Hidden gem! A fantastic upstairs terrace to sit and watch amazing sunsets. Comfortable and relaxing and away from the maddening crowds. Great beach...lovely pool and access to kayaks to explore the mangroves. If I return to La Paz I will return to Casa Kootenay.

As some other guests have said, we never go back to the same place twice due to the many places we want to explore. However, we returned to Casa Kootenay with our son who wanted to practice his Spanish and see the place we raved about from when we first visited last March in 2017. Leeanne and Herman are so nice and so welcoming. The room, the private bath, tiled sink and shower, bottled water, terrace overlooking the bay, delicious breakfasts daily, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and safety all were incredible. It was like going home. I am rewriting this because the first draft did not get sent I guess. But for private family time, this B and B is the best. La Paz is friendly, surrounded by ocean adventures and mountain ranges. We have yet to explore the trails up in the hills. We had so much fun together. I consider Leeanne a friend now. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need more details about this wonderful home away from home. Why not visit our wonderful southern neighbors in their vacation playland? Don't miss snorkling with the sea lions in March or April and don't miss the beautiful Sea of Cortez and Pacific beaches. Rent a car so you can do day trips. Book with Leeanne directly and give her a huge hug from us in Maine.

Wow! Best BnB yet.

Welcome home. That's exactly the feeling that Leeanne shares with her guests. And it's better than the pictures! The property location is right on the beach in a quiet neighbourhood in LaPaz with SUPs, kayaks, etc available anytime. The enclosed courtyard with pool, hottub, loungers, tables, soft seating, open air kitchen and so much more, is there for the guests' enjoyment. Our large airy room had great storage, amenities and was so lovely and comfortable with our own patio. Leeanne's breakfasts with a mexican flair were scrumptious and leisurely as Leeanne helped us with planning each day - suggestions, directions, or a phone call to assist. The best part is the large rooftop patio with loungers and comfortable seating, shade sails and fantastic views of the evening sunsets over the bay. Leeanne is a fantastic host and her lovely dog, Ayla is great for pets and play. Thank you for a great time in La Paz, Leeanne. We will be back!

Fantastic stay

What a truly fantastic stay we had with Leeanne and Ayla! We were fortunate to spend a week here with a different breakfast every day. We had some fabulous evenings up on the roof terrace with a welcome evening of cheese and wine and a tequila tasting another evening. Had great fun trying out the SUPs. My only problem was the bed - it was so comfy, it took all my will power to get out of it everyday, leaving me none to resist my daily icecream! I highly recommend Casa Kootenay

Great B&B Vacation

Google maps got us easily to the front door of Casa Kootenay. Leeanne gave us a complete tour of the grounds, right off. The courtyard entrance is beautiful, with a tiled Hot-tub and Pool, several seating areas and plenty of space to lounge, either in the sun, or in the shade of umbrella, or foliage. The lobby feels open air, with lots of tile, glass, and a beautiful view of the beach and waterfront. She has plenty of tour information and she will also set you up with local tour operators, if you ask. She arranged for us to swim with the whale sharks, which was an unforgettable experience. She led us past the outdoor kitchen area, which is available to guests, and has a refrigerator of beverages at a small cost. Our room was second floor, and had plenty of space, nice bath, small refrigerator and safe, with a view of the courtyard. But the real view is on the beach front terrace. She has a large terrace, with lots of seating, games, shade if you want, and a panoramic view of the beach and bay. The best part comes at Sunset, when we would sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the show. Very beautiful and relaxing. Breakfasts were amazing, and varied. Each morning we had fresh fruit, smoothies, coffee/tea, and a home made traditional mexican eggs/tortila/etc dish. Tasty and plentiful. Whenwe weren't out exploring, we took advantage of her complimentary Kayak, and wind surfer, to enjoy the bay, right off of her beachfront. The location was great, in that it was just out of the resterauant district, but was a short (5 min) drive to the middle of it all, where there was plenty of parking. Lapaz is a great town to visit, and has lots of shopping/Food, and a beautiful waterfront, as well as being close to other beaches, and golf, if that suits you. We highly recommend Casa Kootenay to anyone.

Great Place.

Our 2 week stay at Casa Kooteney was wonderful. Leeanne , the owner was a great, thoughtful host and would always go the extra distance to help and make our stay enjoyable. Breakfasts were always delicious and varied. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. She had lots of great ideas for dining, shopping and hiking. Herman took us out for birding and also to an old gold mine that had been abandoned in the 1920's . There was lots of room in the courtyard to sit, relax and enjoy the pool/hot tub. We highly recommend this place.

A very pleasant "homey" feel

Casa Kootenay was a very pleasant "homey" feel to arrive to after travelling to other Mexican areas on our trip last month. This contributed even more to our enjoyment of the La Paz area, which is much less "touristy" than other areas. The BnB was quiet and fairly secluded without being out of reach of many options for eating, shopping, entertainment etc.. The daily variety of breakfasts were wonderful, beach access and the use of the paddle boards and kayaks were a great bonus. Any questions we had regarding the area were pleasantly and easily answered and/or investigated if needed. The only extra that would have put the Casa Kootenay over the top would be if they had a few taxi drivers with some English set in place to reduce the complication of that aspect, (specifically for us travellers who expect everyone to know our language..LOL) We definitely plan to return there again someday soon. Thank you to Leeanne and Herman for a very enjoyable week.

P.P.S The beachfire was 10/10

Thank you so much for a beautiful stay here at Casa Kootenay. We felt right at home and enjoyed every moment of our visit. Paddling to the mangroves, bananagramming on the roof, swimming with whale sharks and sea lions, breakfast and coffee every morning, relaxing in the hot tub, sampling tequila. Thank you You are a wonderful host and made our stay memorable. Happy 2018
